Discerning Mission
In October 2026 we enter a new phase of our Led by the Spirit programme, which is entitled 'Discerning Mission'. In this phase an intensive and comprehensive consultation takes place which Bishop Brian has explained in his recent Pastoral Letter and Accompanying Notes.
In Phase 2 we published extensive information about the diocese and every parish and much of that material can seen in the Reference Library section below.
Over sixty clergy and laity from parishes across the diocese are taking part in the discernment process and in the interest of transparency the background material for each session is available below for everyone to consult.
Please read the Discernment for Mission material carefully and please keep the entire process in your prayers.
Weekly Sessions
From October 5th 2026 and for the following 9 weeks 70 delegates from across our diocese will meet as our Diocesan Discernment for Mission group. Please keep them and their deliberations in your prayers.
Notes from Bishop Brian and from the group to accompany or follow each meeting will be posted on this page, so please return weekly.
Reference Library
In this section we provide a number of resources that can be referred to throughout the discernment process.
